Terminal to Terminal? This ain't LTLviper822004, TequilaSunrise, Home_on_wheels and 1 other person Thank this.
-
I mean like taking a trailer from Ontario terminal so somewhere in Midwest and then drop/hook for return one to Ontario?
If not then how are the drop/hook runs like? -
Drop and hooks are mostly at customers.
There are some relay loads that pick/drop at Schneider locations but those are rare. -
maybe ask in a canadian subforum? only a few smi canadian drivers poke their head in here.
-
I have never experience using load boards...I have had all experience working with carriers where we would go to a customer to pick up or trailer would be loaded, drop the load, live load and come back to starting yard.
How does it work with the IC program? Can you be home be home through the week? I know it depends on the terminal you start of from and loads in the area.
Are there drop at the same customer and head back to sni terminal and end your run?
Do you get the same loads on a regular basis?
You seem happy with this type of work. -
Canadian sub forum is very dry. And there is not other active Canadian forum I know of
-
Hmm, well guys here can give you info on how it works etc. but the canada specific questions they cant really answer. Are you a sni driver now?
-
It all depends on the market you're running and where you live, and what you want to do.
I talked with an IC a couple days ago that hadn't been home in 6 months, by his own choice.
I'm home so much SNI should let me put a day cab on, by my choice.
We run VTL freight. Loads don't go to a terminal. -
There are a lot of Canadian company drivers that do mainly cross border work and most of their loads are relays. They pick up from a customer in Canada, cRoss the border and drop at a yard. Then they pick up a relay going right back across the border.
I'm not sure if that would be allowed as a business model for choice drivers, and if it were I doubt it would be profitable. It's been disused before that IC Choice drivers can do cross border loads, just haven't heard of anyone choosing that route.haider99 Thanks this.
