Actually I don't shuttle trailers and I've never been forced to over here contrary to what many people will say

My point is, if you have a truck payment and are a business owner, there is no way I would let a dispatcher determine my paycheck.

Company drivers get paid for shuttling trailers. They have to request time at home.

If I have to make x to pay my bills (truck, insurance, fuel), why subject my self to a dispatcher who can decide I'm not making that this week?

I have no problems making what I want. I'm sure some do, but it has been proven here that if a driver is having problems, it's usually the because the driver is turning down loads more often than not or spending way to much in fuel. Both are driver issues and not company issues.

Like I have said before, to each their own and not every company is the right fit for everyone. Anyways, I'm done here. Best of luck to all the ICs there no matter what they decide to do.

You are right, not every company is the right fit for every driver, and I have no doubt you can make what you want.

My point is comparing what you do to what a choice driver does is an apples to oranges comparison. It isn't even close.

You're forced to run certain areas indirectly that's how sni has it designed

92 cents a mile plus surcharge on all miles including empty is probably what 50% of choice drivers are averaging if you crunched the numbers. It's not my cup of tea but I don't understand why anyone would crush the guy for it. Just sounds like load board burn out and a guy looking to pay for a truck with a different company who may actually treat him better. To each his own. I wish the guy luck.

The only way is to move forwards not backwards. The choice program has been good to me over the years. The next move would have to match or be better than what I had here.

You're probably right that a lot of guys deadhead too much for cheap loads and end up at an overall very low rate per mile. I think even Swift pays more than 90cpm though lol

I agree with you 100% but I don't have 1100 a week sitting on my shoulders either. It's hard to put a exit strategy together when you do and apparently that's just the way SNI likes and wants it. I applaud the guy for moving on carrying that kind of weight. Better than giving up and just being another dust covered repo.

Back in the day SNI had the Legacy program. 92 cents a mile plus surcharge. Fuel was 4 bucks a gallon so the surcharge was huge no doubt. But legacy drivers where grossing 145,000 a year. The same as choice drivers on average. I would personally never let my truck be dispatched.Just trying to add perspective.
