    This is my last week. Going local, and with a small company. No more quarterly inspections, no more annual test drives, no more Qualcomm babysitting my every move. No more being shoved down to Dallas every week because it is the only predictable place to get home from,. No more spending my entire day off staring at the load board, PRAYING I can get something that pays over a buck out of town to someplace other than Washington before it disappears in 5 seconds.

    That said, if you live in a solid freight area, or you're willing to stay out 2 weeks at a time, yeah, you can still make money on Choice. As for me, this OnGaurd deal was simply the last straw. I've been with Schneider for 4.5 years. It is time, I reckon.

    Say whaaaaaaaaa?????

    That's still the person signing the papers fault, for agreeing to that.

    I tell people all the time, it's as important what they take back, as what the rpm or percentage is.

    If you make $1.25 or $1.35 with the FSC for all miles, but only have a $600 week nut, total. That's not rocket science. Let alone if your in at $1.50 plus the FSC.

    I will go to my grave believing it takes 2 a mile whether you have a new or million Mile truck for meaningful longevity in this industry. I will say SFI is better than most. I still can't get over what Quality does. Turning guys loose on a used truck like a bunch of chickens. Not even sure why I care. Should stick to minding my own business I suppose. Sometimes when you take a step back and look at what's going on it's truly amazing. Lol

    It don't take 2 a mile for longevity.. Give me a consistent 1.50-1.70 as apposed to a 2.00 every other load.

    @duddie

    How's Landstar treating you?

    I'm sure some ICs are thinking about going over there, it would be nice to hear about it from a former IC like yourself...

    Roll on...

    It's going well like I've stated.. I'm not in the recruitment business.. Same lanes, similar loads, better rates, agents, brokers, social skills... That's all there is to it... Anything else you need to know Sherlock... Roll on pamper boy

    The only ICs required to shuttle trailers are the ones too scared to say no. Sometimes I don't mind moving my trailer to a place they need it, but I will not do it if it's going to cost me too much time or fuel.
