Just got my letter and it was implied in not so many words that emission compliant vehicles are next.

Mine meets 49 states emissions just not California.

The DOT is reviewing a petition since the end of 2015 from a bunch of safety groups to have collision mitigation systems made mandatory. A quick search reveals UPS already has them in all their trucks.

Just something to consider if you are thinking about moving on due to this new requirement from SNI. It seems quite likely that it will become mandatory in all trucks in the future. -
It'll take 10 yrs for dot to mandate it and then they'll have an exception to grandfather trucks on the road.
