Ok Schneider drivers,
This is in an add locally. Never heard of "jet-set' Intermodal.
Add says fly to location (s) , 3 weeks on 5 days off, $75000 yr
Any info would be greatly appreciated

That's all I know before I even consider an application I wanted to know if anyone IS doing this OR knows of this. I have also seen an add from a different company (recruiter (?)) with almost the same add, but $5k less.
Just wanting to know if its true!!!TheRealPorkChopExpress Thanks this. -
Former OTR driver here, maybe @gentleroger is current on this. All I did was post a link from someone else asking about jetset

It's an attempt to get drivers from areas that are typically outside of company's hiring areas into high revenue markets. Take Chicago for example - there are hundreds of home daily jobs available for drivers with experience, cost of living is high, and our yard is ideally located for the rail yards, just not for anyone who is commuting into work on a daily basis, thus getting and keeping drivers is hard. If we hire drivers out of Miami, or West Texas, or any of a half dozen other markets where employment isn't as strong, we can fly them into which ever market we need for their "tour", and still get them home on time.
It's a solid job, just like any other position at Schneider. Middle of the road, some good, some bad.
The problem is you have to bring all your gear on the plane - tools, bedding, etc - and you'll be slip seating. Me I'd rather move to the job, but that's me.All-American82 and 91B20H8 Thank this. -

Where do you sleep when you're working intermodal? Those are day cabs running freight.
TheRealPorkChopExpress Thanks this. -
If they are running a day cab then SNI would set up a hotel nightly.TheRealPorkChopExpress Thanks this.
