Thank you Sir, what can I expect as far as home time and pay during the 1st. yr. ? Long term career path options ? I did talk with Tammy in recruiting and based on my background, she said I would be a good candidate for the tanker div. I have been doing a lot of research and one thing is for certain, most recruiters will tell you what you want to hear and most company reviews are negative as hell. So I'm looking for real world answers. I am an honest, hard working blue collar guy. Least amount of time spent at one job has been 10 years.

Well try and get your local experience credited with the recruiter so you can start out as high as possible. That will certainly help with the pay. If however you start at the bottom you should make an average of 700 to 800 a week take home. Maybe more but I wouldn't count on it. Hometime is 6 days a month, you decide when. Schneider recruiters have a bad habit of not knowing much about the bulk division so verify everything on here. They are not going to make many promises though. Ask about some extra money to get hazmat or twic. I got 250 bucks from my recruiter to get my passport and twic. Ask, all they can say is no. Longterm career options are available. You can become a road instructor, what we call an OSR, you will meet them the first day. You may be able to move to the office eventually and on up through there. But if you want to move out of the truck then you have to play the corporate game. Schneider is big on that. Personally it fits me.

I just noticed that you are in Northern Cali. We don't have a lot of bulk up there so if you want to move out of the truck at some point you should go with the van division, or move.

Thank you Ethos, will certainly note the possibility of extra $ for local exp. and credentials. I haven't considered a passport, but one more cred. can't hurt.
