Well, I got a few of those... But like br I've got nothing on the scalp to check... how clean do you have to be for hair to not register anything?
That is a serious question and NO I do not partake in that!

 

Actually, I don't know exactly how much hair needs to be present. When I asked the medical tech taking the sample, he stated "an inch or two." I had enough on my scalp to not inquire any further. Sorry I don't have more info than that.

As far as how much time for the hair test not to register anything. I am not sure on that either. I have heard 30 - 45 days, but I don't know that to be factual. I didn't have to worry about it, so I didn't ask many questions on that side of the equation.

Actually I think Hair test's go as far back as 6 months, Urine test's can go back anywhere from 30 days to 3 months, depending on the level test's being performed. It's really a question of "How deep the employer want's to look", they break down the different test levels at parts per million (that means they can go further into the cells , hence deeper). But again the level test dpends on what said Company wants to spend, Deeper tests = More Money. So really I'm thinking the better run companies will go further with their testing because they don't lose drivers or have to hire all the time because they stay.

And another reason for doing hair test's is to find harder drug use ie...Cocain, Heroin ect.. , And just so everyone knows where as urine test will only detect cocain if you used in the last three days, Hair test's will show use for the past 6 months

 

I don't have to worry. I just drink a beer here and there.

 

I dont know if I want them removeing from areas other then my head! LOL. how long should your head hair be?

 

I was told at least 1 - 2 inches. I qualified for that. The cut the hair out with scissors; they don't pull/pluck it out.
