Regional is good because you'll stay in the same part of the country but bad because you probably won't make as much compared to otr.
I do regional and if I want to work a different part of the country I just take hometime there and until my next hometime that is where I'll be.speedyk Thanks this. -
I have similar question myself about OTR versus regional as a rookie. I am too about to start TDI here next week. Is it better to start with the OTR experience before going regional? Is it better to have the 48 states and all weather driving experience?

OTR with schneider doesn't really mean you'll be driving all 48. At all. I've been driving OTR since April and right now I'm in Texas for the second time ever. I've gone as far west as Dallas/OKC/Omaha/Minneapolis. And just about everywhere else east of there. Except Louisiana and Vermont. Don't know what it is with those two, but I don't go there or through there.

Ok how are the trucks
Lifechange05 Thanks this. -
The trucks? They go forward when you push a button and backward too. Turn a thing and the truck goes left and right.
But for real. They're all over the place. Mine is fairly nice but doesn't have all the bells and whistles.
Here's what I've seen: a bunch of cascadias. Some t680's. very few anything else. Few trucks have Parksmart units. No trucks have apu. Some trucks have inverters. Most don't. But mostly they tend to go forward without major issues.gentleroger and QuietStorm Thank this. -
Ok so the trucks are good just minus some of the fancier equipment like apus and inverters. I have three or more companies here local that have apus and inverters so id go with those companies first

The top on my list at this moment is Trimac. It seems the equipment is similar.

So far I'm leaning towards flatbed because thats what is local to me. I have 2 dry van companies both within an hour of me and 2 flat bed companies within about 30 miles. Unless I'm mistaken schneider has a terminal in Jackson about 100 miles from me. I also have companies here in Arkansas that are somewhat close by
