Any recommendations?
As to why I stay, I started as a company driver a little over a year ago, and I have been here for about 6 months as O/O. I like dispatching myself, and where I live, there are at least 12 customers that get deliveries any day of the week, so I can sneak home on occasion. -
I don't hate it. They have their overbearing safety culture at times, but aside from that, you pick freight off the load board, never have to sit around and wait for a trailer to be cleaned, and do as you wish, within reason. I don't hear anything from them for the most part. Freight is consistent, haven't sat around waiting for anything. To be honest, depending on where you want to run, it can be a pain. Expect to see alot of Chicago. I stick to the south east coast and chicago area. I also don't run hard, with that being said, they don't schedule tight deliveries. Most days are ~500mi or less comfortably, and I don't mind that, some want more miles per day and want to run harder, I choose not to.Maverick Griff and Tcoop34 Thank this.

Are you dropping hoses your self? Do the chemical companies unloaded you? Acid suit?
-
I have done a grand total of two corrosive unloads myself in the acid suit. I choose the loads I want to haul, and I skip over those loads for the most part. Most places seem to handle hazmat themselves anymore. I do alot with my own hoses, I'd say its 50/50 with non hazmat, and 30 self 70 receiver with hazmat stuff.Maverick Griff, Speed_Drums, Tcoop34 and 1 other person Thank this.

Ok dont sound that bad. With these deliveries do you have an option to deliver the load earlier than it's appointment time?
-
Make a post here looking for a new company, you will get recommendations. All I know is reefer.

I know nothing about Schneider but Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) is a decent company. They have different divisions like Specialty products, chemicals, fuel and food grade. I’ve been here about 6 months (food grade) and love it. I’m actually on a dedicated account with a guarantee and expected to make $275,000-$300,000 this year. Running the network can get you considerably moreMaverick Griff, shatteredsquare, Tcoop34 and 1 other person Thank this.

Thanks alot driver. That info has definitely sparked my interest. Will definitely start looking more into KAG.
