I'd be curious to hear how it goes w/ Superior, they are at the top of my list ahead of Schneider.

The training is definitely thorough I couldn’t say if anywhere is better for tanker but I also hear that superior has good training. I have seen the superior Carriers pay package for the Atlanta area and you will make 2x the money going with superior I’d rather sit in an hotel for $200 a day than sit in my cab for $65 but that’s just me

I spoke with a recruiter named Vince at Superior a couple of hours ago. Really nice guy. He was ready to hire me if he could. But the issue I'm having is that I initially went through Knight Transportation. However, I was told many things that were not true - one is that I was sent by them to Swift Driving Academy in Memphis. After completing the school and getting my CDL, I decided to look elsewhere due to all of the "inconsistencies" I was told. I am finding out from most that they are hesitant to hire me because to them, I didn't graduate from an accredited school in their eyes, but a school specifically to work for Knight/Swift. I really don't understand this because I've been told for the most part all schools are the same and that their primary mission is to give you enough training to get your CDL. Your "real world" training would come from your employer. I'm kinda stuck it seems other than going to one of the Mega Carriers. My new plan is to attend Schneider tanker school in Houston and stick with them for at least a year. If you call Superior, ask for Vince and tell him Bill sent you. Wish they had a change of heart.

    MYSTYKRACER Thanks this.

I thought hiring was done by the terminal managers and Superior didn’t use recruiters like most companies?

Same up here, Nalco got tired of Schneider always late( not an hour or 2)
1-2 days late, And drivers un prepared showing up with dirty tanks with clean washout tickets, Don't think its all on the drivers, just lack of training or drivers not listening/learning.
So we took over a lot of that work. Their still pulling out of there just not like they had it before.
A lot of places we go its like that.
I've shown more than a few of their drivers how to read a calabtaiton chart.
    The mc#s and tank capacity.
I feel bad for those guys

Yeah I was at XL Brands in Dalton, Ga today and the guy was complaining about Schneider always being late says if it was up to him he wouldn’t use them

If you call the central office you get a "recruiter". I generally suggest folks call terminal managers directly. You will need to go through them eventually.

All I know is that it was a separate recruitment phone number I called and told me he was a recruiter and that his name was Vince. Not sure if this is something new with them or not.
