Sadly they dont offer the eco account in the south. You can make them $1500 weekly checks you will have to get fast and efficient. Unload one trailer and rush to get the next.

Im a veteran driver but new to tankers. Why does schneider spend so much money on safety yet they cant put one foot rails around the catwalk in case you trip? May be a stupid question. I simply dont know.
I see other tanks where theres a platform on the side (with a rail) and you reach over to check valves etc. I cant help but think, im going to work there so i dont have to worry about breaking my neck lol -

A few places I picked up and I mean a few are not set up for rails. They lower a platform ontop of the tank and it wont go all the way down if the trailer has it's own rail. However the main reason is $$. Why buy a huge fleet of rail trailers if all the older ones are still good to go.

I went through the Schneider Bulk training in Coraoplis and was quite impressed. It was thorough and they had in hand procedures for everything... to include pre-trip. Training was 7 days a week and then we were given "orders" to meet up with our trainer. I trained in Chicago... I got along great with my trainer and he was very thorough. My OC was in Gary, Indiana.
My issues started when I hit the "Fleet". Double dispatched trailers, HIT fittings that leaked, trailers that needed work, things like that.... typical big company stuff. That said... my pay was always on time, I got paid for sitting Thanksgiving Day without having to ask, my bonus money was paid on time. I don't have any issues with Schneider... they were a good start for me. They say that 2/3 of the loads are non-hazmat... well... that may be... but 2/3 of mine WERE hazmat... hahaha.. it was a good learning experience.
Ultimately I moved on because of equipment failures, ect and now work for a small "mom and pop" outfit in the Bakken hauling production water and doing service work... 2 weeks on with 2 weeks off.... and the money is still spot on. I love it!
