Schneider Trucking SUPPOSEDLY best trucking company

Unfortunately in a company this size there isn'the much uniformity between dbls and other management. I hear a lot of horror stories from other Schneider drivers and a lot of them have something to do with home time. I personally have never missed a weekend home except for one time that I asked to stay out because I wanted to see Texas and that's just not do-able in a week from Northern Ohio then home to NJ. I talk to my DBL once every 2 months or so and it's only if I call him. My dispatcher gives me a lot more freedom than I thought I would ever have like what days I want to work and if I want certain loads or not if its possible at the time. I feel like I have earned that with them. I see how they deal with some other drivers and it is very true that you get back what you put in at least on our account.

The two ladies who work in our office one being dispatch, the other works on bills, they are constantly asking how my wife and kids are handling me being gone. I've talked about this before on here, but they have even made me sit down with them to for lack of better term scold me for always taking the bare minimum 34 hour break and not spending a little extra time at home. They are always quite concerned about new drivers with young families and the work vs. family balance.

So OP, sorry the communication isn't what it should be between your husband and his higher ups but it isn't that way for all of us. Perhaps your husband should confront the problems instead of having you do it for him on Internet pages. Or find another gig. It's easy to rag on Schneider even for me but for a 7 month rookie I think they treat me rather well and I've said it many times on here.
