I've replied to this thread earlier, which some less experienced drivers responded with an opinion of "who cares".
One needs to remember with any of these carriers if you don't "stand up for something, you will fall for anything"
My 17 months at Schneider just got worst as time went on, they lie to you, take loads away from you after your dispatcher has set you up.
The Qualcaom is outdated, & will get you in trouble if your not paying close attention.
All anyone can benefit is to get enough experience to move on to somewhere else to pull freight.
With that said, drivers who need to start somewhere, should never get comfortable, but always be looking to improve their "maneuvering skills", for that next "better pay'n, more hometime, or better equipment, with benefits Gig", then the last one..!

They have never taken a load unless I told them to because I didn't have the hours to make the run.
The Qualcomm has just been updated, and the new NAVGO is almost(almost) perfect, hasn't gotten me in trouble yet.
I am guessing it has been a while since you worked for them.AfterShock and RoadToad69 Thank this. -
I don't work for them anymore...
I'm not going to lie about them, just telling the truth. Made good money for a start up company, had an issue with a dispatcher...got a different one and a few small things here and there but overall it was a good company to work for. I took as much time off as I wanted and ran where I wanted.AfterShock Thanks this. -
I have been working as a team with my husband for almost 5 years with Schneider. I have never been lied to, and both he and I are fairly happy working for them. We just recently had an issue not being able to get home in time for a family function and there were no loads to get us home. We were about 600 miles out. Our DBL, with her supervisors' permission, offered us a rental to get home. That shows how much they have changed.
My husband and I made $97,000 as a team last year. We stay out about six weeks at a time, tho and never turn down loads. His experience rates him top pay, mine will not be til Sept. in this economy, we are quite happy with Schneider and can deal with the small nuisances that the less mature seem to want to rant and rave over, throw up their hands and jump ship.

Got to scream BS i know a few drivers that work for them and I have pulled for them. They dont threaten anyone. As for a accident not being his fault if this is true he could have had it reviewed they would have pulled in a review board that would have had drivers and safety heads on it. Plus in 19 years of driven I have yet to see the roll over that the driver couldn't have avoided by slowing down. Or something the driver did to cause it. Further more if the tandem lock up you would be suing them for faulty EQ that almost got him killed. Then again that part of a PRETRIP! Stop blamomg company for something he did!

lol mine NAVGO want me to drive down railroad tracks the other day. But the place I was going was right there it was right about that! But you did say almost perfect

They are all liairs. You just have to find the one that lies less. That takes time. Schneider sucks.

Let me be the first to share my personal trucking experience in regards to Schndier Ntl. I initially recieved my cdl in the state of NC. I earned my endorsements including my hazmat on my own. I applied to the charlotte office and was given a 2 day phone interview, followed by a hair and urine test in rdu. I sat through 2 wks of classroom orientation, followed by 3 wks on the road with a trainer. The trainer I got stuck with was named Ira M. He is black and hates white people. The entire time I was with the trainer, I was told how stupid and incompetent I was, followed by how fat and useless I was. I requested a new trainer through the charlotte office, in which I Was told to keep my mouth shut and do as I was told and I wouldn't have any problems. After this phone call still on the truck with this racist negro, I promptly grabbed my belongings and checked in to a local hotel in wisconsin. I flew back to nc the next day, (On my own monies I might add) and Schndier promptly called me offering me a new trainer and more pay if I did not say anything about this incident, or disclose the audio records of this trainer to the media. I signed a employment contract as well as a clause which stated I would not disclose this incident to the media or any forum. Long story short, I worked for the company as a solo driver for 3 months. I made 460 per wk as a trainee, then made 233 - 375 as a paid driver solo running 3200 + miles a week after taxes. I never had an accident while at this company, but several truck break downs, including a trailer locking up on me down a steep grade.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - They promise you everything, but at the end of the day you leave with no more than what you started with. The clothes on your back. Looking back now, perhaps I should have taken their equipment to mexico and left it -
All the drivers are expendable.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 15, 2012
