Ok I am set to graduate in August and have a pre hire from Schnieder tanker div, TMC, and Melton. I was leaning toward Schnieder because of the home time of 2 days a week but the terminal is 75 miles from me and they don't let you take the truck home. And from what I understand you don't necessary get the same truck each week. With TMC from what I understand you are home about 1 and a 1/2 days but it is your truck, Melton I think is the same way.
My question is do you think it would be better to have your own truck to take home, or do the 75 mile commute each way every week, and slip seat? Decisions, decisions

Personally don't think slip seating would be a deal breaker. It kinda depends on what you want to do. Do you want to haul a tanker or do flat-bed? I had thought about flat bedding it and then I spoke with an old friend and he made some decent points. Do you want to be putting on a tarp in 115 degree weather or for that matter trying to remove a frozen tarp when it's 25 degrees outside and you have to fight the tarp and snow or ice. I am gaining the utmost respect for drivers that I never really had before just 4 wheelin' it! Good luck on your decision. At the present moment I'm planning on going to Schneider and running vans until I get some time on the road and then I plan on going over to the tanker division.
