There are relief drivers? Outstanding. Hurry up, waiting on yellow and main getting to where it's overflowing right quick.

And from the latent smiells of the developing siutaiton there must be a certain amount of BS pending.

Absolutely correct. I would just add one more thing. Do you see 10 different buses? 8 to 9 of those buses are driven by women. There is a reason for this. A while back I was sitting in a small diner near my home. I was eating and enjoying some time with a good friend. I was watching the busses coming in and out. I only saw 3 buses driven by males. Don't get me wrong I don't mean to sound misogynistic with my comment. Just noting that bus driving is becoming more and more something women do. I think you can become a bus driver with a felony, but you likely will never get approved by the school district with a violent felony history and you are an automatic NO if you have a history of harming children.

I recommend contacting a school district to get their rules before you spend a dime.

I though you had to have a cdl with bus endorsement to drive a bus. at lease in Kansas you do.

Sorry....you need a CDL to drive a school bus in most jurisdictions.

A background check is also required. My granddaughter drives school bus and she said they dig quite a ways into your past.
That's a good thing. I wouldn't want a psycho or a child molester hauling kids.

You will be forced into a background check even if you are applying to be a janitor. I do not know if you have to have a CDL to operate a small van <16 passengers. However, you sure as heck will have your background checked. THAT is a given!

If you don't have documented mental health issues. You will after driving a school bus a while. :laughing-guffaw:

Maybe you can get yourself a service animal. A nice pit bull would be comforting at the front of a school bus. :laughing-guffaw:

See op, you can't get a job, there are supposed to be a higher level of qualifications.

I got to watch first student drivers come and go every morning for a few months, i would not want most of them to drive a garbage truck. Near where my wife works there is a Durham yard and I've seen Durham drivers make illegal turns, blow through RR crossing and even back up on a freeway ramp.

Not saying all bus drivers are *******, but a large amount of them are, enough to refuse to allow my kid on any bus.

I drove my kids to and from school when I could, my wife did the same thing before my oldest had her license and continue to do so because the level of danger on a bus.
