Marksheffel/Stetson Hills area. I've lived in Stetson hills area since 1999...okay let me rephrase that I bought a house in that area. I was deployed 7 of 11 years with the Army. I retired in 2012 and have been catching hell finding a job. Everyone has a problem with the whole "I looked for Roadside Bombs" thing and fear I'll go PTSD on them. I think I'll be a good fit for Truck Driving.

Sage is a good school. I'm Sage grad. One of my classmates was chewed up and spit out by Swift and Sage helped him get some real chops and get his confidence back behind the wheel. They had no trouble picking up on my weak points. Most importantly they bother to teach you things instead of just how to breeze the licensing exams.

You also have to be mindful that the job market in Co. Springs is just plain crap. I'd think of the times I'd put in 30 or more applications to maybe get one call back, whereas one day of job hunting in Denver netted me four job offers.
What are you looking for there? Local, regional, OTR? -
I'm going to do my year or two on the road, enough to get experience, and then looking at Ace Hardware near the airport. Honestly I don't need to make a lot of money I just need to stay busy and work for a company that is reputable. Apparently Ace Hardware here pays well and has a hard time getting drivers that clear a urinalysis and are worth anything. They are desperate to say the least and they take care of their drivers.
My wife loves the Springs or we'd be gone!!! -
Primes a good company. We do assign lightweight trucks to ALL solo company drivers. You can find more information about that even pics in some threads if you type prime lightweight tractors into the search bar. If you can get over that, and they arent bad at all the equipment here is very nice. Then the pay here is good as iron said 42cpm which includes 5cpm extra paid for driving a lightweight. Also the truck will be governed at 62mph and you will be expected to cruise it at 56-58mph. However this will also help you maximize your fuel bonus. We are 25 of 52 weeks into the year so far ive been paid just over $1300 via fuel bonus, nothing to scuff at. Also i checked on the pet policy a couple years ago unless somethings changed since then, i was told $1000 deposit and non refundable, and that the deposit was to clean dander any urine and cover any damages causes by the dog. If anyone is aware that primes pet policy has changed please correct me i would like to know. I would also look into jbs out of greely i believe they pay well also 40-42cpm if i remember correctly. There are advantages in working for a company that hauls their own product(like jbs) such as better productivity. If you choose prime this is a good company and they pay well. Good luck.

I'm in the Springs also, but wouldn't mind leaving, lol. Thats funny they cant get clean UA's that are dependable here. I know I would never be a trailer loader for them.
