What schools are you talking about? I'm starting school on Monday, and haven't done any paperwork other than enrolling in the class and paying my tuition. I didn't sign any papers, and no there's been no mention of MVR or DAC.
I guess some of these drivers need a little more nanny care, and that's why so many wash out when they don't get it.

No DAC or MVR checks down here that I know of,
but should be mandatory !!!!!! -
BINGO, let's try to get back on the personal responsibility kick...Due diligence is OUR responsibility...You not being able to be hired is a non-issue for the school, don't waste your time on them...
AND, there are still places that will hire you, Maverick for one, call them! -
Any company that hires you is going to do a MVR check or they will be in violation of the FMCSR's. §391.23 Investigation and inquires (a)(1) tells them they must do an inquiry into the driver's driving record.
There's no small (legal) companies to go to that will not check. There might be some that don't follow the law but do you want to work for a company like that anyway?
A good school will check but I can not find where they are required to. It's better to just check around for the companies that only restrict you to 5 years and go from there. Forget the school and waste no time or money. -
Come on, seriously? I've worked for small (1 or 2 trucks) company, driving local making $20.00 hr - Who only *ASKED* if I had an clean driving record and could pass a drug test; they aren't the majority, but they are definitely out there - whether you think these companies are right or wrong they exist, and some of them pay well.
If your a HAZMAT and petroleum hauler you probably won't find companies so lenient, but they do exist in other types of trucking.
Regardless of the circumstances, the guy invested time and money and should look into all possibilities.... -
if ur goin for you first comm. license why would they run a DAC?
-
some states, have additional rules to the WIA program....my former (and now current) schools are required to run DMV checks on students. my former employer, under the government backed student loan program, was required to run a DAC as well.....my current employer is NOT a government backed student loan school at this time so we do not run a DAC
come soon, all schools WILL BE REQUIRED to do both....no matter whether or not government loan backed or not. this will go into the CSA plan....... -
because even though DAC was set up for the trucking industry (primarily), there are other industries that also subscribe to DAC as well....this being said, there is a "potential" that ANY former employer of yours is a member of DAC......bigrigjones Thanks this. -
If you have something like this on your record is the age of it based on the day it happened? People get in trouble and don't get a court date for months or a year.So offense date or conviction date? Offense date would make the most sense wouldn't it?
-
conviction date.....i do believe....Injun Thanks this.
