Are you usually preplanned before you're empty or is there sometimes a wait for your next load? Any broker freight? and any auto trucks in the fleet? I hated driving them at my last company but I know they're becoming the norm nowadays.

Usually you know what your next load is soon after if you accept a load. If not, you'll know your next assignment usually within thirty minutes to an hour after sending an empty call. Right now my hours are tight, rolling on recap down to the bone, so tomorrow the load is finished and I'm sure they'll have me sorted for the next load sometime before delivery. Also, they like to make sure you know what you're going to be doing to get through the weekend.
Only once in five months did I have a load that I knew came from a broker. He screwed up the number of drops and I had to call to straighten him out.
I don't know of any automatic transmission trucks in the fleet.Metallica88, mattbh23 and XZRF4 Thank this. -

The short school bus?Adieu Thanks this.

So from an O/O perspective.
How do they pay?
Can you choose from a list of loads?
Do you have to pay to rent a trailer from them?
Are wash outs or truck washes free?
How about Ezpass & Pre Pass?
Do you get scale reimbursement?
If in the Chicago area per say, do they reimburse you for parking?
Anything else you can think of. Sounds interesting.

10 cpm more = at least $10,000 more per year.
There are a variety of big carriers offering that (or better) who require very little experience. Why work for less? Though it's true the West (especially California) and some Southern states are low-wage areas, for most of us, there is better work available.
The more drivers quit for better pay, the better the industry gets for all of us.
Poly and Magnum pay about 50 cpm. K&B will get you 50-65 cpm for actual miles. And these are not even "top shelf" companies.
You don't have to be an O/O to just say, "no" to cheap freight.28 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
