I am glad that you saying that because that means that there will be more a-holes caught on those cameras urinating on a pavement. And you as a yard dog now, would not want to step on someone's pee puddle neither while hooking up or unhooking. Don't you agree?

I agree. I would be happy if drivers would stop leaving pee jugs everywhere in my lot.

I have to admit I am a big hypocrite. When I was a driver, I 'd consider pretending that nothing happened. Now, when I own my trailer.....hmm I'd hate someone scrape it and take off. Me the Hypocrite!!!!

Does it cost less in terms of money and down time? I fail to see the difference. What I will give you is when the industry goes back to hiring drivers and stops training just for the govt. money much less of this will happen, look at all of the major LTL companies, thousand of trailers all drop and hook, little to no damage.

Guys. I am sorry, I realized that the disclosure that those are images from the web didn't get in the post with the images even though I thought I wrote the disclosure up front. Those two images represent the damage but are not the actual pictures of my trailers. I apologize for the lack of disclosure being in the post and causing you to think they were of my trailers.

I won't post the actual pictures as it is a policy not to for legal reasons, but those are close enough to show you what happened.

Here is what I am driving at, what is a scrap to some is real damage to others.

To address the other posts, the costs are about right what you said but then when I figure in the lost revenue with those trailers, not just the down time but then the transportation of them and the driver's costs involved, it isn't a small number. The reefer had to be fixed right, not just some expanding foam stuck behind the replacement panel, but actually fixed at a factory location, it was not cheap. We still have an issue with that spot being warmer than other parts of the wall, another year or maybe two and that trailer will be gone out of the fleet.

The second one was a nightmare for the trailer place to fix, it was around $9k when the final bill came. The frame didn't get bent but the floor and supports were buckled at the impact point, which meant they had to rip into it and replace those supports and boards. We sold that trailer last month because it didn't seem stable for forklift use as we were using it.

Here's a question for the selling party: Are the accident, repairs and subsequent problems reported when the trailers are sold? I.E., are the companies as pure as Caesar's wife like their drivers are supposed to be?

Once a long time ago when I was flat bedding some idiot low speed ran down the side of my trailer when I was parked at a sapp bros in Oklahoma,I got dressed and inspected the damage with the other driver because he actually stopped.we figured out all we did was basically traded a lil paint,we shook hands and he left figuring no damage no harm.next morning I get a cal from dispatch saying he had reported it as I hit him back in up

I hit him backing up and I was at fault not him and he just wanted to make a report so my company was aware of what happened.lucky for me I was fairly regular there and 2 waitresses and a bus boy on a smoke break witnessed the incident and knew me and wrote statements to my company and saved my bacon.so remember guys save yerselfs and no good deed goes unpunished.

Is the company that takes the word of another, unknown, driver over yours really worth working for?
