Dare I say it? I think in the next 5-10 years all trucks out here hauling freight will have 2 additional things: (1) paperless logs and (2) {this is what I dred saying} "black boxes".

Good thing I'll be retired by then (I hope).

 

Ironic that they (government/Company's ) want to do everything they can to micromanage the driver and discourage productivity. Yet want to pay you in a way that requires micromanagement and promotes productivity.

Would most anyone feel pressured to log illegal or not follow the law, If how you got paid did not encourage it? I doubt it. I don't anymore. Every hour I put in a truck, I get paid for. Want safety? That's the easiest way to achieve it. Speculative driver pay does not promote safety

 

Why does this remind me of that Simpsons episode with the autodriven trucks...

Not only is it TRUE if a TRUCKER said it but if he said it was said on the CB its Truly TRUE and if its on the internet it is like TOTALLY TRULY TRUE.
