Yes, they do have live docks and they will allow you to practice backing a trailer in a dock (not with other trucks coming and going though). It wasn't a required part of the program and only 2 of us did it (the others didn't want to try - most people have enough trouble just getting a handle on what's required for the test).
If you were looking for an LTL job in Indy I'd say "yes, going to SDIA could give you a leg up." They have a very good reputation and they know the people that do the hiring at these companies. But, i'm guessing it wouldn't make any difference to companies in St. Louis.
Community college programs are usually pretty good, and probably quite a bit less expensive. That might be your best route.
