You will be arrested for a bench warrant. The jurisdiction that issued the warrant has the option to extradite you but as you noted, it is not likely in this case as we know the details. However, that doesn't mean you wont be arrested. As I stated, you will be arrested for a bench warrant, you will post bond (because the jurisdiction that issued the warrant likely wont extradite you for a warrant on a traffic ticket (unless you are really, really close by). Just because you are arrested on a bench warrant for FTA, doesn't mean they have to extradite you. But, you will be arrested & you will have to post bond to be released.
This is no different than say a simple battery or simple theft warrant. If you are contacted by a LEO & they discover you have an outstanding warrant, you will be arrested, taken to the jail, they will contact the jurisdiction that issued the warrant to see what they want to do (they could have found out there are other issues or circumstances from the same or other law violations) if its no big deal, then they probably wont extradite, again, unless there are other situations or other information that comes up. At that time, you will generally be able to post bond & will be released. Just because you wont be extradited, doesnt mean you wont be arrested for this. As stated above, even a person who has a warrant for simple battery... even domestic violence, you will be arrested but it doesnt mean the issuing jurisdiction has to extradite you. In reality, you could be a bank robber or even a murderer.. you will be arrested but that doesnt mean that the jurisdiction that issued the warrant has to extradite you... but that doesnt mean you wont be arrested. You will be arrested for a warrant, including a bench warrant for a FTA for a traffic ticket but , it doesnt indicate that you will be extradited. Or to clarify, just because you wont be extradited, doesnt mean you wont be arrested. You will be arrested if it is discovered you have an outstanding bench warrant.

Clerk of courts will not be lenient on you like those other drivers because to them a ticket is a ticket. No such thing as its just a ticket in the eyes of the law.No since fighting it because you're quilty. Why have'nt you already paid the fine? How much time did they give you?120.00 is not that much could have saved so much out of your checks each week. You can call the clerk of courts and ask for an extention but don't wait till the due date to call them.

My town won't arrest you for a bench warrant. I know the police 5 miles away in the next town did not even want to come and get him so he wasn't arrested. The local town your arrested in does not make you post a bond. It's up to the town who has the bench warrant.
My town is listed 19th in the most safest towns in the U.S. but we don't arrest people for stupid stuff especially when it's from a different town. They want him, come and get him and we'll hold him. -
Some towns are like Mayberry.I stayed on this farm one time after they unloaded me,we went to the store,he didn't believe in doing the speed limit or stopping at stop signs and went thru a red lite after making sure it was clear,he scared the heck out of me and I told him so,lol.A cop stopped him and told him to slow down and that was it.

Ya, I sort of live in Mayberry but a very rich town and a huge police force. I drive at night so I'm even up at 2am when I'm home. Once I was out around 3am and a cruiser was behind me when I was pulling into Dunkin Donuts. They had the lights on. When I made the sharp corner to the left at the drive up window I could see it was two of my friends.
I pull up to the front and jump out and start running. I go inside and there's all the state troopers taking a break and I'm like, oh crap! My buddy is out front in the cruiser over the loud speaker to give myself up. The state police just laughed at me. -
Spoke to the court this morning, turns out I was only required to appear to fight it. They said I have 60 days after the court date to pay it. Whew....

Take care of this stupid crap while it's only $120. If you ignore the court for long enough, they will find a way to get you to pay attention. The longer you hold up your middle finger, the more expensive it will get. Judges don't like to be ignored.
This stuff has a way of catching up to you at the worst possible moment.gpsman Thanks this. -
Ya, no kidding!!! I was asked once to come in and testify. Not a court hearing but just as a witness to an accident. Before my case was a gas station owner. He was from India. Cheapest people I've ever met by the way. Anyways I found out later the whole story. I only saw the end result or him being thrown in jail by the judge.
A guy worked at the station and the owner wouldn't pay him overtime so he quit. Then the owner said because you quit your not getting the money for work you already did. He went to court and the owner was given a summons. The guy didn't show up so they issued a bench warrant and he was arrested since they knew where to find him. Comes back into court and I heard the husband and wife are yelling at the judge they don't have to pay him since he quit. Like yelling is going to change things.
The judge orders him to pay in cash today or he will charge him $500 a day every day he's late. Guy didn't pay. Weekend comes. Arrested on Monday and thrown in jail until the wife came back with the guys pay plus $1,000 and court fees. I was there for that part. The guy was to be given his pay plus that $1,000. They closed up shop after that and left town. It was awesome!!!tsavory Thanks this. -
120 dollars ain't much money these days.

I am taking care of it. And I was never holding the middle finger to anyone. I was just worried about not appearing, it said failure to appear will result in suspension on the ticket, the clerk said all the tickets say that. She said if I don't appear, I'm found guilty by default and have 60 days to pay it. I was never intentionality going to ignore it, but had no plans of driving 500+miles to appear either. All I wanted to know was whether or not I would be suspended. On another note, while I was talking with the clerk, i found out that a driver with the same name as mine received a hefty overweight ticket, glad I found that and immediately had that cleared up.
