I am thinking about getting my cdl due to recently getting laid off from the steel mill in ohio, I have 3 seat belt violations on my driving record, outside of that clean, I was just wondering if I'm gonna have trouble finding a job, just don't wanna waste my time getting it if it's gonna be an issue.

You have proven you don't learn, could be tougher than it should have been. I wouldn't hire someone that has issues with safety.
pattyj, Big Don, lagbrosdetmi and 1 other person Thank this. -
Honestly, Your Better off collecting UI and waiting for the mill to call you back..
You really don't want to get in this Industry, Trust MeAlexFromMD, Cottonmouth85, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Failing to wear a seat belt carries as many points on the carrier's CSA as speeding 11-14 in the "unsafe driving" basic. At 7 points (10 being MOST severe), it is worse than failing to yield, improper lane use, and even failing to stop at a rail crossing while pulling hazmat. Seat belt tickets are EASILY avoided, too...simply "click it"...and your proven history of NOT buckling up is something a carrier will consider.
So yes, the 3 seat belt tickets you have on your MVR could easily make it difficult to find employment in this industry.Dominick253, pattyj, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's the game plan I just want something to fall back on incase things don't pick up again.

So are you absent minded, or just have this "thing" about seat belts and/or driving regulations? Actually, either one and you'd likely be better off finding something else to do.
I firmly believe in seat belts. Just as I firmly believe in wearing a helmet on a motorcycle. But I'm not that fond of the government saying we HAVE to it.
OTOH, having a seat belt on during some type of violent incident on the road, can help you stay in position to try to control your vehicle. Leading not only to making YOU safer, but making everybody else, (ME,) safer. -
^if you can get unemployment this is the forrealsies^Dominick253 Thanks this.
