Hi again all. New question about seat cushions and request for some info from those with experience using them. I'm noticing that my nether region is falling asleep and in need of some additional padding after about 2 or 3 hours in the seat. I've been going 7 to 10 hours at a time. I've read about the Purple cushion and have seen a blue gel cushion in Love's or Flying J. Has anybody tried either? Anybody have some suggestions for other options? TIA! R

I have been using the Purple brand ultimate cushion for 2 years and though it is expensive it has been worth every single penny. I injured my tailbone 5 years ago and now I can't sit for too much of an extended period of time unless I have something like this to help me out and it has done an exceptionally good job.

The silicone cushions are comfortable but they also increase swamp-butt.
I used something like this from Amazon

Buy one and find out if it works for you.
Or you could simply stop a bit more often to get the circulation going again.

I would do that but I'm still in training for 2 more weeks. Once I get past that, I will DEFINITELY be stopping more often. I can't even lift off the seat for too long (~1 min) before it thinks that I've departed to truck and turns off cruise, puts a warning on the dash, who knows what else ;). Thanks!

The real purple ones are very good and expensive, another driver just bought one for $40 but it was a cheap copy.

Is your truck a Freightliner? I spent 3 years in Freightliners and it was the only truck make I had to add a seat cushion to be comfortable. I think a wooden seat would have been more comfortable.

I got 5 years out of a cheap Amazon knock-off of the purple seat cushion. It wasn't $40, for sure.

The only good thing about Freightliner seats is that they are very wide I surmise to accommodate some of the big bubba American truckers out there. Those seats are awful otherwise in terms of support and cushioning. They are actually the reason why I bought the purple ultimate cushion in the first place for a 2021 shaker I was driving for Roehl that was killing my tailbone and back.

Everyone is different, I suppose. I'm in a Cascadia and am very comfortable in the stock seat.
