Well I got 2 job offers today. Paschal Truck Lines & Royal Bengal Logistics.
Paschal is W2, Bengal is 1099.
I’m leaving towards Paschal. Mainly because it’s W2. Seems like less of a headache.
Second chance companies?

Big red flag right there... That means this is a shady company that will steal $1500 from you right out of the gate. A legitimate escrow holds money in an interest-bearing account in the driver's name and would serve to protect the interests of both the driver and a third party. In this case, its just money you will never see again. It is now also implied that this place is evading taxes and misclassifying company drives as independent contractors, as you cannot legally withhold earned income from the employee for the company's gain.Stringb8n Thanks this.

I saw and inquired if they’re w2 or 1099. They said my choice…
-
They replied saying yes it’s still withdrawn as w2. I don’t know much about all this but that sounds odd.
-
According to the IRS, a company cannot have employees doing the same essential functions as "Contractors" using company equipment. Shady at best, likely knowingly evading taxes.
If they'll risk stealing from the government, what makes you think they won't steal from you? -
I’ve decided not to risk it. I’m just going to PTL. Ride out a year with them & I’ll have more options overall.Speed_Drums and Chinatown Thank this.

@Roger88 - apply to these companies that offer a 2nd chance.
Some don't cut any slack on experience required and some do.
So apply anyway.
Some may have a "Job Alert" form, so submit that also.
