i actually thought at first i was going to just : grab the book, study it, get my CDL, and get a nice cushy local job delivering dumpsters, cokes, concretre ETC. LOL
you are definately spot on: get the manual and study up before you ever go to school. it will be much easier to retain the knowledge given to you in class that way! -
Right on! I was the only one to get my permit the first time because I studied for a month before I decided when I wanted to go to school. Also my school gave 4 test the first 3 days and they use those test scores for the GPA. Heck they tell you to highlight pretty much everything you need to read plus we looked at 3 tapes that pretty much told what questions to look out for. Anyway I am beat and 7am comes early so I am gonna crash.

Okay today I had some more fun I did a site side parallel park. No way did I know you could do that with a 18 wheeler. I was so lucky I stuck it into the space on the very first try and the tractor was at an exact 90 degree angle from the trailer when I got out an looked it was right betweens the cones llike I had been doing it for years. Of course the next two times I got it in but my angle was off a tad but the trailer was straight. Also got more practice on straight line backing and I would say I am getting more and more comfortable with that manuver as well as the 45 alley docking. Got two more days of yard work with the blind side parallel parking tomorrow. We did some map and log work at the end of the day to wrap it up. Just to throw in we do a pre trip and brake check before the post trip at the end of the day before we park the trucks. Can't wait till tomorrow.
