keep in mind, make sure your driveway and street can handle the weight. Most residential driveways, unless spec'd otherwise, are not designed to handle the 18,000 +/- lbs of the average tractor. Not only will you be replacing your driveway, but you could also rupture a water/sewer line if they run under it. Yeah, 90% of these stories about that are urban legends, but not all of them.

When we do a HHG load, if we have to put a container on the driveway, I have to notate it on the delivery invoice and have the customer initial it that we are not liable.

As for streets, a lot of developments, the streets are only rated to 10,000 lbs static (parked) weight and you could find yourself paying for asphalt repairs to the street. Your home insurance won't pay for it. Also, if you live in an area with an Home Owners Assoc., make sure they along with the City allows it. Most HOA's specifically prohibit commercial vehicles in excess of 10,000 lbs, also as I've learned recently with mine. Our HOA prohibits commercial vehicles with a Tare weight of 10,000 +, but the City prohibits commercial vehicles in excess of 8,000 lbs in residential areas, you need to know who owns the streets. In my case, the HOA owns the streets, but regardless, even though I am head of the HOA, I still can't bring it home.

My drive is fine...and I dont park in the street.
I have nothing under my drive, I built this house and had the concrete poured and over spec'd.

No HOA to worry about at least in my case...

    Rockville is no burb...

Not sure how close you live to the HHS Bldg, but there is a pay for parking lot on the other side of the Gov'mint lot. Maybe they will let you park it in there, if you keep it in the back..
