How is it going with SLT? Thinking of applying. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

The only thing Good about SLT is the PAY don't plan on geting any of the Bonuses Your Driver Manager will make sure You don't qualify. Their Driver Mangrs are the worst I worked for them 1 1/2 yrs. once they sent me from FL to IA the load was suppose to go to TN they sent the info via a Qualcom they would not pay for their mistake I drove an extra 1k miles for free. on July 4th 2011 My Father Past away I told My DM i needed to get to LV Nv asap because my Dad wasn't doing well and that He might Past on, My DM had 3 weeks to get me to LV, He then sends me to SC,NC, LA. My DM warned me if I quit or left I would be Arrested for abandoning the load (FELONY), they still never arranged a load there i had to request home time and wait for approval that took another 4 wks mean time My Dad Lies in the Morgue. How Awful is that !!! One of the Drivers they assigned me DID not know How to Release the Parking Brake and ask were reverse was this guy said he had been driving for 12 yrs NOT !!! still yet another driver I knew was chased by another this same driver that did not know how to drive around a parking lot with a baseball bat, still yet another Driver they assnged to me Tries to smach me in the face while driving down the road they didn't do nothing He was Mike Watson's Buddy, To Put it Mildly I'm GLAD I don't work for them ANY longer. They Fired Me Because I needed time OFF MY WIFE DIED Jan 23rd 2012.

 

So did you go to SLT?, Is the pay and home time in line with what they advertise?

 

I work with SLT!!! I absolutely love it! They have followed through on everything they promised!!

 

Just starting with slt first load will be monday 1-19-14 we do not mess around with bad trucking companies we will be owner operators so we are hoping this company will be a great fit ... so far everyone we have met thru orientation have appeared to be straightforward and honest they have acknowledged the flaws and from what we notice is this is a brand new company under new ownership so expect posts on if we will recommend or not recommend this company as far as i know they do hire noobies that can pass a background check they are a team freight trucking company that uses company drivers paid close to 1200 a week plus mileage bonuses as well as a 70% pay to owner operators better pay n less miles is what we were advised to expect . will update this post along the way happy driving and be safe .

Your reputation at SLT wasn't the greatest. I fully understand why your codriver wanted to beat somebody if you wouldn't stop the truck so he could use the restroom. The company isn't perfect, but i know for a fact that they have replaced any office personnel who have not adhered to the changes demanded by new ownership. You may have had a few bad experiences, but SLT has changed and anybody considering working there should probably speak to a current driver who doesn't have baggage and drama going on.

sorry took a bit of time off due to being pissed we had a 400 dollar week they stated it was due to our security clearances ... so we are still with slt and still on the fence now that we passed our clearances and team polywogs doing more gov loads... we have been making some money I know for everyone good money changes from person to person so our take home has been like this a nice $8000 then a $4900 and this settlement will be $4800 for some that might seem great for us having done higher dollar averages its the bottom of what we want to earn...... unsure if we will stay ....they could work us so much harder but they dont its almost like they try and work us from monday to thursday if you delivered on a thursday they want you to wait until monday for next load this doesn't work for us and if they cant step up there game up soon we will be gone in a week or two hope this helps will try and check my email more often sorry i didnt get back to some of you .... best regards and happy trucking
