I picked up three of these from United Rentals in Winnipeg about a month (and a half?) ago. I used like 6 chains and 12 binders.
Your way looks a whole lot easier and simpler.
Now that I think about it, I could have hooked the chain-ends of the straps in the securement hoops and used winches as well.

I'm not beyond securing equipment the way they want them. I learned early on that it is better to have and not need,.. than to need and not have.
As a result I now carry 20 chains, 24 binders, 20 4" straps and 8 2" ratchet straps.
Picked these up from keen. They wanted 4 points of securement on each machine. There are 5 machines with 2 chains on each machine,.. each machine has 4 binders securing it. Time consuming to say the least.

Yes,.. this I know.
How ever,.. if you know step deck,.. you know that I can not possibly scale over 50k legally.

How I've hauled these in the past is one chain, one binder for two lifts on each side. I hook my front chain pulling back, and my back chain pulling forward, put the binder on either front or back, witch ever works best. I would've had 4 chains and 4 binders per side.

I always do 4 points on all but the smallest machines. Even cars and pickups,.. I still do 4 points.
As for the lifts,.. they were listed as being 900lbs each. They loaded them with a small fork lift. I doubt it could pick up more than 2500lbs with out tipping.
EDIT:
Oh,.. I see what your talking about now. Nooop,.. wasnt me.

Looks fine.Their not going forward or backwards and not side to side.
Hurst Thanks this. -
I think as narrow as those are, you could have done what Mac said, only just split them into two groups. That's only 2 more binders per side, and that would eliminate any chance of the load bellying to one side if something went wrong on the road.
25' is too long a span with your chain tension perpendicular to the lateral load for my taste. Although the way you had the chain linked through each junction, they weren't going to go anywhere.
