I've stayed in more motels rooms than the average joe and never had a problem with my laptop or valuables stolen.
If you look on the side of your laptop, there is a plug in for a laptop lock. It's kind of like a bicycle lock. They start around $15. It's enough to deter a sticky finger maid.

If you're really worried about it, go ask Bob in OS&D if you can keep it in there. I'm sure he'll look at you funny and probably make fun of you for the rest of his career but he'd probably keep it locked up. Assuming he hasn't retired yet.

Just leave the do not disturb on the door if your that worried. The hotel at Marshfield won't take your things.
-
If you had to stay in Gary, IN I bet your underware would be stolen. And that's the underware your wearing.
-
I bet they would even steal the ones with stains.
-
You know I thought I lost a pair of dirty drawers when I stayed in Gary. Lol so (true)
-
If you are in Marshfield it's more of a motel... almost.
-
Bar downstairs hooks it up tho.
