Securing a trailer

    Hey some truck driver probably told him that at the TA at about 2 one morning so it has to be true. Truckers don't lie!

    I would use a minimum of 6 chains and binders. 4 corners and 2 in the middle.

    I hauled a stack of 48' flats once. I used 4 chains and straps every 10 ft. Probably over did it but they didn't budge.

    If you have the chains and straps why not use them maybe the customer may give you more work since you are taken such good care of his product

    image.jpeg Here is how I did it. Four chains on the corners and then five in the middle. The wood on the trailer was all rotted and half the boards were not even attached. I had to stack them up and used my chains to secure the boards and trailer. It had some ratty straps holding the boards but they were in bad shape so I figured better safe than sorry. It rode 500 miles without budging. Dropping her off in the morning.

    More than enough but I would put something over the neck, especially if it is 10' or longer
