I see that size machine on a step pretty regularly. We have a hydraulic ramp trailer that's is around the same height as a step we used to haul 200's on there all the time. It is a heavier built trailer but the height was the same.

Ok so the machine is a volvo 210blc. I put every chain I could get an anchor point for on plus a couple well padded straps through the tracks. I talked to my company (who I rent the trailer from) and they said it was good to go and told me how to tie it down so we will see how it does. Thanks for all the replies.

This is how I have done the machines I have hauled. I use my heavy binders connected directly from the track to my stake pockets. Binders are rated 9600lbs, stake pockets on Fontaine Infinity,. not 100% sure,.. ashamed to admit that. No chains. Bare in mind, this was before I did some heavy haul and have a new insight into hauling these machines. How ever,.. I've done 30 or so excavators this size like this with out any issues. No harm in over securing,.. its like taking a turn,.. take it as wide as you feel comfortable.
Case 160 is only about 35k. IIRC I scaled barely 68-69k with this machine full of fuel. Legal load.
With a machine at 47k I think I would have added chains from the front and rear center of the track carriage.
This is how I did a JD 120. Tracks were a little too wide to connect the binders directly with out adding chain.
Also,.. as much as I dislike J-tracks,.. I feel they would be better suited for securing machines like this. Thinking of having them on my next trailer.

Depends on the trailer.
My trailer is rated up to 80k. (80k of actual load weight).
I have permitted 57k on my trailer before. Handled it like a champ.
No pics of that load,..
But here is a 46k dozer,
and here is a 46k coil,..probably the most brutal IMO as all the weight is centered in the one spot.
As far as the weight being on the out side edges,... no different then a 47k load of pallets IMO. They are loaded edge to edge.
Hursticsheeple Thanks this.
