Yep...haste makes waste, had it happen to me as well. Learned a lesson from that, no matter how much your in a rush to get your P&D done, you still gotta keep safety in mind. Sometimes I see drivers too lazy to even close down the rear doors, and use the liftgate as a door instead. I saw driver about a month ago merging onto the highway with it's rear door open and hand truck just barely hanging on the end. Anouther truck was blowing his horn at him to pull over, but he continued put the pedal to the metal. If he had a CB, he might of been informed of his situation, but none the less, the other driver basically cut him off and forced him off the road. Seems like a hero in my book, but you don't wanna temp Murphy's law, because whenever you're in a rush to get things done, is usually when something happens.

Never had am issue using a load locket ween floor and ceiling running it through the brace for the wheel. As long as it is tight it never let's loose

The worst of it, was not that I got in a hurry. The worst of it was that I blew my cool and let an Anal Aperture get to me. It could very easily cost someone their life when that pallet jack came off the truck. All because I got pissed off and careless!

Yeah, you gotta be a professional at all times, or at least try to be. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and be the bigger man, especially if their a repeat customer. I've had situations in my past, not in LTL, but in my younger days when I did foodservice, where I would lose my cool, and since they were a repeat customer, it became very childish, where I would go out of my way to screw them over, as did they in return. It made going to work unpleasant and created unnecessary drama. As I got older, I learn to let things go and just do my job, because you can't please everyone.

But then again, don't get me started on the rich neighborhoods....Ha.

That's for dang sure, cant please everyone @Sho Nuff. Previous LTL now doing roll off dumpsters, Contractors at new home builds park in front of my dumpsters, Ask them kindly to move for about 15 minutes to do a double rotate . they refuse to do it or get angry

I tell them straight up, you either move or i'm putting the dumpster furthest location possible on the property, you can walk and get fined by developer for debris on ground, My company hates these sites and won't be back for a week to relocate, your choice. I don't care what the project manager tells us to do, we'll be back in a week and the relocates are $100. You are eating away at Project Managers budget, not me.My job is safe, is yours ? LMAO

Frustration leads to no where by anyone.

I'm a fan of the rubber wheel stops, as long as there's room in the trailer for one. I can't stand it, though, when the loaders stick the pj in a pallet with the wheel stop...it's a hassle to have to drag the jack out far enough to kick out the stop from under the wheels.
If you have e-rails or tie-downs in your trailer, this is the way I secure my jack; it works with rope as well, if you don't have straps... Screenshot_20160504-051522_1.jpg Screenshot_20160504-051527_1.jpg

That's a good idea running the strap through the handle.

Thanks. It's the most secure method I've found yet, the jack is completely immobilized. I can even use it when the trailer's empty, I just run the jack up to the nose with the runners against the bulkhead.

I've noticed that if you don't run it through the handle, the handle can turn which will loosen the strap.
