    Lashing Requirements
    Deccelation 0.8 g (32k lbs)
    Acceleration 0.5 g (20k lbs)
    Lateral 0.5 g (20k lbs)
    Downward 0.2 g (8k lbs)

    5 3/8 g70 chains are legal for a 40k suicide coil.... Ouch.

I would run 6 chains through the eye, 3 on each side. Probably going to need more chains to hook up the ends of the chains to the trailer as the eye is so long.

No, I don't have experience with something like that. But that's what I would do. A good way to learn something around here is to propose an idea and let other people come around and tell you whats wrong with it. It's a good thing. :)

I agree I have placed two chains in the middle of the eye I’ll send my numbers in. It has to be proven with numbers in order for them to accept me moving the item. My issue so far is failing to meet the minimum on deceleration. I’ll send a screenshot in 5-10 mins

It's faster to throw more tie downs than it is to deal with anything that could go wrong. I think overkill is good.

It passed when I did one loop on each side(C7 and C8, also C9 and C10) of the side given that I have 2 and half inch clearance and 3 and half inch thick edge.

    That's also using 1/2" Grade 70 chains.

Oh A REEL... holds fiber cabling etc.

I was thinking coil. The biggest single coil Ive had was about 8 foot and change wide and 24 feet long. 52000 pounds by itself. Ive had two of those. All the chains and all the straps I had went through the eye and over the top. (Chains eye and straps top)

I don't know the weight of that reel, but since it is big it's probably enough to make you Mr Tippy. Put everything you can on it.

    Lepton1 and Blindsin36 Thank this.
