it wont be too bad to stick with it for a little while. the lifting isnt that bad in the cold weather. the summer would be harder. I deliver bakery supplies to local bakeries and resturaunts. Im allergic to bees and when youre carrying bags of sugar and flour around in the summer, they are all over.

im definately not going anywhere right now. im just researching other companies for future reference. any suggestions?
-
Before we can make any decent suggestions, we need to know where you live and other info like that. I deliver a lot of baking supplies too, but I do it all in bulk with a pneumatic tank trailer. I pushed 45,000 pounds of flour off this morning in about 1.25 hours at a customer.
-
whats a pneumatic tank trailer?
-
Trailer is a large tank, filled with flour and I unload it into the bakery's silos using air pressure and flow supplied by a PTO driven blower mounted on the tractor. They are the trailers you will see on the road that have hoppers on them going down to a pipe on the bottom of the trailer. Look like a huge oversized tanker trailer, but they haul dry products rather than liquids.
I haul sugar, dextrose, starch, flour, popcorn, wheat, wheat bran, wheat germ, construction lime, soda ash, baking soda, plastics like polyethylene, pvc, polypropolene, and basically any product that can be loaded in the top and unloaded using an air system. -
i live in buffalo ny(not by choice). I want to run the south western states. I like it out there and eventually want to move to arizona or nevada area. it doesnt matter what type of freight because i dont know enough about anything yet. i just need to be home every 2 or 3 weeks for a few days.
-
ive seen those at star of the west milling in rochester new york. i pick up bags of flour from there
-
I pick up from Star of the West sometimes here in Mich. Those are an example of why I give the advice to look around and come to the realization that not all trucks consist of vans. There are many other things that move in other types of trucks.
Look in the "good companies" section for Bulkmatic transport for more info. Might have dropped to the second page by now. -
This old veteran will tell you not to stick it out. If your working your head off and not driving much, that to me isn't right, you should get two paychecks,if you do all that, unless you are peddling freight for 20 plus an hour and home every nite with health benefits. You will need them. Jb hunt are liars,I have been thru their whole orientation at Brunswick N.J. and Johnston,Ny walmart ditrib that they run. In my business of trucking,if the trucking company lies to you to get hired you don't need to work there. You are sounding like a company rep or recruiter for J B, One third of the topics of bad companies comes into JB hunt headlines. Stay away from Swift and Jb, I would check Werner out,not much better but better,or Sneider, again better. Roell is a good one,Crete,Cfi.. I haven't worked for any of them but I do my homework here and read all about them. best of luck to you.

im at sixteen an hour, time and a half after 40 hours home every night and weekends off. benefits and vacations. hours are 5am til about 5 to 7 pm averaging 60 hours a week. its good for most people, but i miss making my own hours running all over the country. i worked for crst for 2 months before this job. i left there because they only run teams and the closest they got me to home was 300 miles away. they payed for the bus home, but it took all the home time away. anyways, whatever i decide has its ups and downs and with no experience it seems like i have to choose between bad and worse. other than the usual day to day inconveniences, when it comes down to it i love driving, and i dont ever see myself getting tired of it.
