At this point I think it's just some drivers' idea of good fun to start rumors and see how long it takes for it to come back around to them. We get bored, so it's like a form of recreation. I swear it's some guys' only hobby.
A rumor can start at one terminal at the beginning of the night and spread throughout the entire Midwest by morning. I've seen it happen. Before the announcement that Swift was buying AAA Cooper, a rumor started at one of our southern terminals and it spread like wildfire that Dayton Freight was buying them.
