CSA is changing things "within" the trucking industry. It is not changing laws... And it can't change an officers discretion on writing a ticket or not.
Got passed by a black w900 the other day that said that. I know, it's not like there's only one of them out there.
In Land Line (I think) there was a story in there about a driver getting a ticket for having a flat tire. It was a steer and he was parked on the side of the road waiting on the service truck to show up. So it does happen.
I'd love to get one of those....Like I said before, My attorney would have a field day with it! It is not illegal to have a flat tire.
I am a mechanic in the army and learned a bit about retreads. They are not used on the front because of how they are made. You take an old tire, grind the rubber off down to the belts, then take a glue and apply to the tire and apply the new rubber. DOT figures the steering left and right can cause the glue to seperate. If that happens you will go straight to the belts. I don't know how often this has happened but this is the reason.
