.38 i don't leave home without it 95% of the time. This is not ''PARANOIA''....

It is harsh reality we see everyday on the news and all these THUGS killing, raping and destroying innocent peoples lives..I will not become part of that statistic..Prison or no Prison, like it or not,Laws or No Laws,I WILL have something in store for them...It is as simple as that..

Its a personal decision. If you feel comfortable enough with what you have chosen for self defense, then that's your decision.
I don't see anything wrong with a law abiding citizen arming themselves.
Im with the supposed wacky gun crowd. If you are able to get away with carrying, I say do it.No-ones gonna be there to to advise
you from a company stand point if you get assaulted.
I can't carry at my current employer, but I wouldn't hesitate if I owned my own truck.
    I don't wanna carry a knife to a gun fight :biggrin_25512:

This also has me thinking..Why don't any of these companies cover driver self defense,or protecting yourself in orientation?
They sure as hell cover the policies against any self defense measures?
It is an issue. There are bad parts of town,so to speak

Years ago I was a public safety officer and did armed patrol.. so, I had to go through all sorts of training..
Some of the training was how to disarm an individual who is holding a gun.. it is not as hard as one would thing..we had even more training on bow to prevent our gun from.being taken.. one day, learning how to take someone's gun, three learning how to prevent our guns from being taken..

You always hear the "bringing a knife to a gun fight".. however, if you bring a gun to a fight it is always a gun fight..

Common Sense is always first defense... Sometimes, one with a gun has a false sense of security and may be willing to stay somewhere where they wouldn't with out a gun..

So even if you choose to bring a gun into it.. use common sense as if you didn't..

I'm not against guns, we own, but can't you get in big trouble carrying them? Not just company, by different states have different laws about them and if you get pulled over and found to have a gun, couldn't that result in some bad things happening to you that had nothing to do with self defense?

I simply remain aware of my surroundings and carry myself as if I would not be an easy mark. Never been bothered by anyone but panhandlers. And even they seem to be giving up on approaching me.

I try to park in well lit areas, don't wander around in the middle of the night, don't wear expensive jewelry except my watch, but it isn't flashy, and don't carry much cash. I also use a flashlight if I have to go to the back of my trailer.

Being aware of your surroundings does more than anything. Not saying carrying a gun isn't a good idea, and has proven many times over to save lives, but if someone is mugging you at gunpoint, there is almost no way you are going to draw and shoot before they pull the trigger. Even if you manage to get a shot off, they have a good chance of doing the same. It is also nearly impossible to draw and fire if someone is coming at you from 10 feet away with a knife before they can stab you.
