i have also spotted a few trucks with bars that went over the windows on the inside. i wonder if they make these bars themselves or can someone order them to fit a certain truck?

I can tell you in the state of Massachusetts it is illegal to carry pepper spray without possessing at least an FID (firearms id card)card. Stupid law. I can't comment on other states but I do know what about mass.

I have also been told it is technically illegal to use bee/wasp spray in that manner. Something about federal law and improper use of an aerosol.

The pepper spray I know to be true as for the wasp spray that was just hear say.

My wife and I carry our firearms on our person nearly all the time except when I am in my truck (company prohibits it). I feel totally safe in my truck with my dog, tire thumper and the fire extinguisher as a last resort. Would rather have my trusty 1911 on my hip but those items will work if needed

oh almost forgot, you could also clean out a windex bottle and refill it with clorox bleach. the windex bottle has a decent range when turned to " stream " and the clorox sure would set those eyes on fire too. lol. there is no law against carrying cleaning supplies to keep that truck fresh lol.

Self defence? Why? Just don't ever take a shower and nobody will want to be near you to even rob you.

But really, I carry a 3lb sledgehammer with a wedge on one side and a cast iron crowbar. I hope I never have to use it for that purpose, however if you threaten me I won't hesitate. If you want my cargo, then I'll give you the keys to my padlock. Just don't steal my padlock

You have to be careful, sometimes it isn't the state, but the company you work for. SNI doesn't allow us to carry anything that's a weapon. I have a small, less than one-inch knife that I keep super sharp. Admittedly one inch won't do much, but one inch is enough to do damage if used the right way.

If you're inside the truck, then use the seatbelts to "barricade" your doors closed and make sure your doors are locked. If you're not inside your truck:

1 padded keychain (overstuffed rabbits foot, stress ball, ect)
3 keys you have no use for

Put the stuffed keychain into your palm, this is imperative. Next put one key between each finger. Tada! Instant brass knuckles.

They also make "thumper rods" that go onto a keychain. It's usually a hardwood with an eye-screw on the end to attach it to your keys. In reality it's too small to thump a tire properly with, but it'll make someone think twice after being knocked on the noggin.

Not a good subject. The laws are too messy, and there are too many variances in laws from state to state for anyone on this forum to competently explain.

With that said, I did often legally carry a firearm in a commercial vehicle in Virginia and North Carolina. The 2 states recognize each others concealed weapons permit. The only requirements are that that if you get pulled over, you should place your hands and the wheel and inform the officer/trooper that you have a firearm in the vehicle. In most cases they will just say thank you for informing them......no biggie. Keep in mind that any business has the right to restrict firearms from the property........... which is another bag of worms by itself.

Another note is usually criminals prey on the weak, I do not know why most people think getting old is an excuse to blimp out and lose their man card. There is always time and plenty of reading material to help you stay in shape and at least looking like you could be a problem for a criminal, this could help you avoid issues alone.
