You didn’t read what I asked. I said What happens when weather conditions are outside safe parameters of the program....like say a light rain lol. Or a gusting cross wind in WY. Better think on it some more joe

OK. Then first we need a hacking shield. Piece of cake.

I had a trucking simulator some years ago. I found it to be a very very valid replication of what I go through when hooking up to the trailer on my big game computer with it's three video cards and so on back then. It's not a perfect simulator and has flaws. (All programming has something left out)

Theoratically with my current build which is probably one of the top 1% home machines in the state and a fiber optic connection, you would think I can use my knowledge to remotely pilot a real semi going down the freeway in specific situations a few hours daily for wages from home.

IF we can fight a drone war from Las Vegas Airforce base killing people on the other side of the world with them, surely I can run a semi remotely right here from the house. All I need is the fiber and encryption so that no one else will get man in the middle or some other technique to try and hijack the whole thing.

People always use airplanes on autopilot or remotely flown in this discussion but how often are airplanes passing 8 inches from each other with 10 more right behind each one.

Not often. FAA Traffic Centers that control our Continental Airspace above FL145 has a specific separation that is required between aircraft. Particularly Airliners.

The Military has a separate and independent set of rules allowing them to be two feet apart in flight or even to assume Military Responsibility and commit to actual acts of war against a hostile party in a populated airspace. During 9-11 we had two F16's without armament discuss a targeted hijacked airliner setting up so one rams the ####pit and the other cuts the entire tail section off by ramming which is suicidal for both for the good of the USA. These two F16's were over Detroit when the day developed and progressed from there. Boston had scrambled a pair of F15 alert eagles but too slow, too late and Andrews followed a whole bunch Cold War protocol out into the Atlantic before being told WTF you doing get back to DC and cap this place now. So they came back on burner from 150 miles out. Everything else was told to get out of the sky that day or else.

Heavy jets like the 747 generate vortexes which are deadly to smaller planes. So when you have one take off or land for example, there is a certain time clock that must run to dissipate the vortex before providing say a Cessna 150 take off clearance behind it. In the air those vortexes behind a 747 can reach back as far as 8 miles in trail.

Most planes have some form of anti collision now with their weather radars in the nose. However, it's not always successful because of the speeds involved. If they are 10 miles apart at mach .86 each the closure rate at the same altitude is so fast most humans will only have a few moments to register a mental WTF in both planes before the smash when they do see each other.

Autopilots in a plane are very particular. Theoretically you can have it leave the gate and take off and land on it's own to the next airport gate. It's quite possible. My FSX Deluxe replicates either a B17 Autopilot from that era very faithfully or a modern 747-400 virtual ####pit with a complete autopilot suite up top. Its really good. But it's not the end all be all.

I remember one approach executed into Brazil by a Airbus A380 which are really really big the Captain was using both a keyboard next to his side stick and his voice commands at certain points inside marker during base and final. He only put his hand on the side stick and the other on the throttle stack at 200 agl to retard (Silly me, Let's pick another word. Meaning to slow down power...) prior to touch down which was essentially over the airport's runway fence.

I don't see truckers using keyboards inside 18 wheelers because that's been outlawed. But I do see a potential for one in the office or at home to do this provided there is a adequate 360 coverage by real time video of good quality and other input on several monitors. I can support a total of 8 of these in 4K resolution with some penalty in generated heat and power consumption. But I usually run two.

You want a little more into detail but get my point you can fly airplanes remotely because you're not literally inches from other traffic.
