Self loading used equipment

Personally, I would rather load my own equipment. Of course newer equipment is so much easier to load and handles so much better, but with the older stuff you just have to take your time.
loaded a brand new D8 the other day and it was a cream puff. Those wore out old excavators are the ones you got to keep an eye on , especially loading over the back on a Murray.

 

I do Local construction equipment I had a paver die half way on the trailer knew it was out of fuel I called the companies mechanic and they came out and looked at it put 10 gal fuel and I finished loading I load all the equipment on the trailer

 

Every shop I've worked at, driver loads/unloads the equipment. We were not allowed to do it because of liability was what I was told.

 

I have loaded most all of my loads, one very important thing I learned many years ago is, that the is responsible for the load, before loading any thing that has been setting., no operator around. Always check the fluids, most importantly oil then water, In your situation I would have the owner of the load figure out what to do.

 

Check fluids. If it runs I load it.
Any leaks of any kind I don’t.
weigh masters don’t like leaks, don’t ask me how I learned that.
Nothing gets pushed on or off my trailer, another hard lesson. Just part of the job.
