Semi retired

My wife is collecting 2 pensions with our S.S

 

We both retired from pharmaceutical companies

 

I have a friend who lives in Vancouver Canada he retired 10 years ago and now has to work part time doing cabinetry. The main reason is inflation and his house he bought 20 years ago for 85k and slowly renovated is now worth 950 k so his land taxes exploded .. he was considered very comfortable when he retired but now needs extra because his monthly expenses got so high . If retiring consider country living big cities will kill you on taxes due to crazy house costs nowadays..

 

Wow, almost 1million dollar home, that has to look great, I can imagine the fireplace it has . That’s cool. What a great life.

 

In my hometown that house is 225 to 250 k all day . Investors in major Canadian cities ran the house prices to astronomical levels.

 

I’m beginning to like this retirement stuff ha ha ha
