Thanks for that post tim. I dont subscribe to the Harder in My Day school of thought. It's all a sacrifice, and each enlists according to their gifts and wild desire to serve and become a citizen who is truly invested and enfranchised in this country.
For some, the Air Force was hard. While that may get a chuckle out of some Marines and Rangers, it aint no joke.
That said, we served on mess duty (a fate worse than death) and Infantry chow halls could at times be scary. If you never witnessed a Marine staff sergeant biting into his swedish meatball only to find a cigarette butt in it (paybacks are a you know what), you haven't lived, brother. The whole dang mess hall was standing by. Priceless!
