My truck will do 90 right now. I'm not stupid enough to speed in a construction zone. Anybody who thinks making all trucks run slower than the rest of traffic will do anything to increase safety needs to look at Swift and their accidents.

Go ahead approve the bill ...put limiters on all trucks. Then that imaginary driver shortage will suddenly become real.

I won't do it, I'll spend the money and get a bullydog or tuner like that and be able to set it myself, "there's no way in hell I was doing 75 officer, I'm governed at 65 like everybody else," and I will be far from the only one who does it.Joetro, stwik, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.

I'm not going to fight it. To hell with them. The eld was almost the last straw for me . A speed limited definitely will be. The day it's made mandatory I will put the for sale sign in the window .stwik, Intothesunset, Bean Jr. and 2 others Thank this.

On top of the new mandate that ELD's will automatically go into Drive mode once you hit 5 MPH. So, if you're changing spots and you accidentally go 5 MPH, too bad. Guess who isn't getting a 34 hour reset now.
Intothesunset, Rocks, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
I bet the list of sponsors of the crap are all the companies that are already governed. Just another way the megas are trying to get us owner operators and small fleets to come to theire level.
autopaint, olddog_newtricks, Rocks and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well, there’s one idea somebody had here. Get the speed set, then change the rear end gearing and switch to 24’s.
Canadianhauler21, x1Heavy, Oxbow and 3 others Thank this. -
Just bypass the place.
Reminds me of the old Split Limits a Decade or so ago. THAT was a royal mess.
As far as the fining everyone goes, don't give them ideas.Intothesunset Thanks this. -
1 Anybody can speed in a construction zone. It's not hard.
2 Maybe convoys will be the new thing.
3 Beef and grain price would go up.
4 Rear end collisions will increase do to slow trucks in a line. And then driver gets distracted for a moment. -
Next will be the 100 ft distance per truck law. Virginia not playing around with this in the weigh stations. Guy behind me got pulled over the other day. Like if I can see your face in my mirror, you are too close.
