The bottom line:

Someone with very little experience at:

the English language

driving American streets & roadways

recognizing/understanding/acting correctly on US road signs

has NO BUSINESS being issued a CDL (whether class "A"...or class "B")....or given any job requiring such.

Suggestion: spend a few years driving a regular, 4-wheeled vehicle (go inexpensive, at first)....on US streets & highways....BEFORE chasing a CDL job.

BONUS POINTS: If you start out driving...mostly in more rural/less urban areas.

Meanwhile: practice/work on your mastery/fluency of the English language. Be sure you can read/recognize/understand ALL common road signs used in the US.

I suggest the above because:

it will probably save someone's life (including your own)

you will very likely have a much more successful, satisfying CDL career -- later on

especially for new CDL holders -- the CDL job market is terrible right now; you would save yourself further disappointments/failures in the near future

NOTE: Your CDL will not go "stale"...with all of the above. I got a CDL class-A job approx 2 years...after I got the CDL.

This advice is painful but makes sense. Thank you very much for your insights. I am thinking about applying for an Amazon delivery job in my area which is non-CDL job.

3. Backing Up in traffic. (That’s what got you fired. They had to fire you for that. Bad idea. Bad decision. Really bad.)

Your problem will be, even if you get another job, they’re going to road test you first thing. If you don’t have much experience driving a car, how are you going to be able to learn enough about driving, traffic laws…etc to pass a road test in a commercial vehicle?

My driving experience with regular car is just about one year. Total 10,000 miles driven.

Yes. Amazon truck is like smaller than CDL trucks but bigger than regular cars, so it felt like good middle ground. My interview is scheduled next week!

About local jobs, will there be a chance for me? I heard that generally fresh out of school OTR jobs are easier to get, most of local jobs require 1-2 years of experience.

There you go I think the straight truck is the best thing for you right now. After that you get the hang of trucking and later on try to get some experience in the yard spotting tractor trailers , after that I think you’ll do fine.

Thank you for a good idea of the path I could take! Yes I guess I would take it slow, step by step.
Rather than rushing and then one bad accident and hurting people, crushing all my hopes in this career all at once.
