Thanks! I just applied at FFE. Prime is different. $600 a week once you pass your CDL and a $200 a week advance 2-3 weeks while driving with a trainer to pass the CDL. I'll have my permit before I go anywhere. Time with the trainer is 40k miles then your own truck. I also get to bring my wife/navigator/cook/bottle washer and, of course Rusty the Mutt Dawg! She may go for her CDL once we've been on the road a while. Any place I drive for will need to allow a wife and a dog.

Thanks! I just applied at FFE. Prime is different. $600 a week once you pass your CDL and a $200 a week advance 2-3 weeks while driving with a trainer to pass the CDL. I'll have my permit before I go anywhere. Time with the trainer is 40k miles then your own truck. How long that will take is up to me and my trainer. If I get a trainer that wants to roll and roll, that's just fine. Home time is not so big at this point in life. Kids gone. House gone. etc.
I also get to bring my wife/navigator/cook/bottle washer and, of course Rusty the Mutt Dawg! She may go for her CDL once we've been on the road a while. Any place I drive for will need to allow a wife and a dog.
Prime, like FFE "claims" to have FREE school but only if you stay. They still take out pay on the training and if you don't make the first year, I guess you're screwed because they'll likely whack your DAC if you can't pay the balance! -
Good luck if you get to go to FFE training keep us updated, i been looking at Millis,FFE,Prime,Roehl.

well thats good to hear you got on with ffe i think the rider policy is from day 1 after your on your own , you have to fork over 1 cent a mile for the dog -- about 25 a week -- you could wait until you have your 6 months in and go trainer for your wife that way she wouldnt have to go the 6 weeks out with a stranger for her training -- just the the 2 weeks at school-- your timing has to be good and be on good terms with the company but its done all the time -- plus they start the teams at around 38 a mile -- the chances of you seeing each other during that 6 weeks of training if she goes out with someone else isnt very good

No problem with the six weeks. She's from the Philippines and while we were getting her immigration stuff all lined up we were apart over a year! Communicated via Skype every day, though. Not the real thing. We've stayed together over 10 years now, not looking to trade her in any time soon! lol!

What happened in England? You never got your CDL?
-
I would have to agree with some of the comments, Swift actually did you a huge favor.
Personally, I wouldn't have signed anything, though. They already planned on nailing your DAC and making you find your own way home, why sign anything that would protect them? Something to remember in the future, if you ever have the misfortune of working for another BFI carrier.
Good luck, and stay safe out there. -
England? Never been to England. I DID apply to CR England. One of my lesser choices for now. I plan on getting my CDL this summer once school is out and I have my last pay check.

just what i read --- there recruiter told me that you had to run team for 6 months --thats the only thing that i didnt like about them-- maybe its changed since then-- i am happy i went ffe--most days anyways
