    I personally think it's smart for someone to learn from a seasoned veteran driver during snow season to how to properly drive safely on snow & ice as well as possibly teaching how to chain.

    Might be an awful lot of hungry people in the northern areas if we all do that. Better stay south, White Dog. Let the professionals deal with the cold stuff and iron.

    Chains aren't meant to be driven on for long durations. They are meant to get you to a safe parking haven if you can't get traction any other way.
