When I started with Swift all those years ago, the rumor was that the old Houston terminal was closing and Swift was building a new one in Baytown. Well, they did close the old one, but they moved to the Central yard that they currently use. If you think the Central yard is bad, you should have seen our old one!
Seriously?!

yeah...alot of differant rumors going around on what they going to do with the fontana yard once the new terminal is done at mira loma
-
Last time down there was told that they are expanding the Fontana yard and even putting in a Jake Break. Been hearing about closing Fontana for little while now.
-
fontana is just like Denver but even smaller. That's all it needs is more reasons for drivers to visit. I've been there only once or twice though so maybe my memory isn't the best. I do remember watching swifties drive in circles forever waiting for someone to leave.
-
When I turn on Banana I look for a spot to park on the street before ever going in.
And I try to NEVER go into the Mira Loma terminal. That place sucks three sides from Wednesday.
If they are building a new terminal down there, I can't wait for those two to be shut down and demolished.
I'd rather pay at the TA than go to either one.Kindle Thanks this. -
Didn't they just remodel Fontana about 4 years ago?
-
I was told that they plan to keep the current Fontana yard as "overflow" parking. I actually like the place. The last 5 times I've gotten here the "lot full" sign has been out and I always seem to find parking. -
It's actually pretty nice, if you don't need to park there.
It is smaller than Denver, with no room to park between rows. So if you can't find a space you are out of luck unless you can park on the street.
Fontana is used for 'close quarters' training, for good reason. -

And yet, I never shower at a terminal.
Never know how well they are cleaned, or how often.
