That reminds me of a story that is totally unrelated, but I'm going to tell it anyway. Back in my tanker days up in Erie, PA, I was delivering gas on a snowy winter day and I got stuck behind the first station I went to and still had gas in the tank going to a second station. Well, at first I just grabbed the shovel and started trying to chip away around the tires thinking a little traction would get me going. While I was doing that, an unfamiliar man came up to me, said he worked in the office at my company. He offers to tow me and gestures to his Chevy Avalanche.
I thought he was joking, but he pulled out a strap, hooked it to my bumper, and gave it a shot. We tried twice and got nowhere, and he was about to call for a tow. But we figured we'd give it just one more try, and he pulled me up out of there. His tires were smoking, and he was fishtailing all over the place, but his truck gave my truck enough of a boost, it worked.
So when I was up the little bit of a slope there was and we stopped, I opened the door, cheering and waving my arms in the air. Then I stepped out of the truck and promptly landed on my rear end when my feet slipped out from underneath me.
I've often thought if anyone had happened to video that, it would either be a great Chevy commercial, or an AFHV winner.
