While going downhill, rpm got too high.
Belts got cut . Many codes showed up.
Had to get truck tow to freightliner dealer.
    Waiting to be diagnosed.
    I have rough idling.
What is the chance that the engine is gone bad ?

    It freightliner cascadia dd15.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

How did rpm get to high??
    How high was the rpm?

    whoopNride Thanks this.
  4. If dealer finds you over RPM the motor for extended period of time. It will void any warranty the truck may have.

I witnessed a 2017 kw day cab with a blown motor from over rev of RPM. Going north on 99 down grapevine.

Dealer plugged in and owner has to replace motor at his cost. Driver was fired the day it dropped in the dealer lot.

whoopNride and Stinky Dairy Air Thank this.

    Is this japanese Haiku?
    Is this problem fix?
    How much was new belt?
    Your title misleads it does?
Did you get scared on many lights?
How did you make dealer on bricked engine?

Next time something like that happens make sure you have the exact factory spare (Or two) and just enough tool to move a bolt or two, loosen a idler wheel enough to get the new one installed correctly (And assuming this is surpetine belt. Snake it correctly on all of the wheels to be driven or idled under the correct pressure. Go straight to the next dealership asap to have them professionals finish up your work, save the entire engine and hand you a new spare belt for next time.

    That is indeed odd.
    No belt, no go.
    No rev no roll.
Write BS, get caught or called out.
I hope BS Not from OP here.

    No brakes?
    What gives?
DD15 engines can maintain on the grapevine going down at 110000 gross.

    Lepton1 and x1Heavy Thank this.

Yeah, I have no idea what the hell he was doing. Wasn't there and glad of it cause I don't care to be used as a crash test dummy.
